DR. KAY KROHNE, PRESIDENT
THE KROHNE CONNECTION
Executive Coach - Corporate Trainer - Consultant - Keynote Speaker - Expert Witness
With more than 20 years of experience as a military leader -- including selection as the first American woman to attend the Royal Naval Staff College -- Kay Krohne has been a woman on the move. Today, she is pioneering the way for working men and women everywhere as she helps organizations confront gender biases, conflict, change, and lack of teamwork.
People who have heard her speak say she is motivational and dynamic and is able to spur her audiences to action with a positive, well-reasoned and balanced approach. That's probably why her clients include Aetna Health, the Secretary of the Navy, the City of San Diego, the Betty Ford Center, the U.S. Government's Office of Personnel Management, Sea World of California, San Diego County, Drake Beam Morin, Fluor Daniel, Copley Newspapers, Walt Disney Studios and the international law firm of Baker & McKenzie.
But Kay's message is also for entrepreneurs and individual managers seeking improvement. Whether you're big or little, national or local, Dr. Krohne's message will make a difference in how you view your options and your life. Her balanced and reasoned approach to dealing with sexual harassment in organizations and gender issues has earned her national recognition. Sought out by Ted Koppel with Nightline, Sam Donaldson at Prime Time Live, and Mary Alice Williams with Sunday Today for her perspective regarding Tailhook and its aftermath, Dr. Krohne has been able to expertly discuss sexual harassment in the military as a cultural as well as social issue which requires visionary leadership to resolve.
Extensive pro bono work for the San Diego's Lawyer's Club Sexual Harassment Task Force has made her well known in the legal community as a consultant and expert witness. And the work she has done with the Center for Creative Leadership as an executive coach and the American Management Association as a course leader for "Developing Executive Leadership" and "Executive Effectiveness" has extended her reach beyond sexual harassment issues to a variety of leadership concerns.
Dr. Krohne has been a frequent guest of local radio and television talk shows including The Roger Hedgecock Show; San Diego People; and San Diego Headliners. She has been widely quoted in newspaper and news magazines including the Los Angeles Times; Chicago Tribune; USA Today; Philadelphia Inquirer; Washington Post; and Time Magazine. A presenter and expert panelist at colleges and universities, Dr. Krohne has participated in professional symposiums at Mills College; the University of Texas; and Penn State and locally at Cuyamaca College and the University of San Diego.
Honored as a distinguished alumna of the University of San Diego doctoral program in leadership in 1996, Dr. Krohne adds this award to four nominations to Who's Who, a national Navy League award for inspirational leadership and numerous military decorations and educational awards, all testifying to her business and academic expertise.
